- My Beer (Alksnāja iela 10/12), the biggest beer salon in the Baltics, offers 600 brews for a reasonable price in a historic warehouse. The pavement seating is as chilled as the beers.

Folk Club Ala (Peldu iela 19) is a medieval cellar serving up lashings of Latvian meat and potatoes with local beers. Folk dancing or live bands most nights of the week.
Egle (Kaļķu iela 1a) is Old Town's liveliest beer garden, with live music playing every evening in summer.
The Latvian National Opera presents fine productions in a beautiful historic opera house at bargain ticket prices.
